We Are Stardust

Every atom in your body came from a star that exploded. And, the atoms in your left hand probably came from a different star than your right hand. It really is the most poetic thing I know about physics: You are all stardust. You couldn’t be here if stars hadn’t exploded, because the elements - the carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, iron, all the things that matter for evolution and for life - weren’t created at the beginning of time. They were created in the nuclear furnaces of stars, and the only way for them to get into your body is if those stars were kind enough to explode. So, forget Jesus. The stars died so that you could be here today.

"And of course, the brain is not responsible for any of the sensations at all. The correct view is that the seat and source of sensation is the region of the heart."

~Aristotle

So I had a MRI scan done for an experiment last month, and a few days ago they finally emailed me a few pictures!

It's pretty awesome, if I may say so myself. =D
After getting the imagines, I've been looking at them, identifying the different parts, etc, etc. And it's pretty cool how different parts look exactly like the diagrams that they use in textbooks. (i.e. the brain stem). Which is kind of stupid, I know, since they modeled the diagrams after actual brain parts, of course they'll look alike! Still, one of the small surprises, I guess...
Yeah, I need a life.

Massive Dynamic

Oh dear, it's been a while hasn't it... And to think I should be more productive in the summer time.

Anyway, a little website I discovered the other day. It's surprising that it took me so long.

Yes, Massive Dynamic is the company from the TV show Fringe. One of the most awesome shows around these days. WATCH IT.

It's just really cool how they set everything up as if it were a real website, for a real company. Even the content can be easily taken be real life products. Which honestly, it might be, just not out for the average consumer yet.
Oh fringe science...
